This wiki is designed to be a forum to discuss the various issues relating to Online-Reporting in the K-12 environment.

It is 2006, why do we still report to parents at the end of the semester, or in some schools in the middle of semester on paper that requires a huge amount of effort to print onto, edit, collate and post? Why report after the fact?

Shouldn't we as teachers be continually grading our student's work and then providing this grade along with a comment for parents to view. Wouldn't this appear to be a more constructive system to provide parents with up to date reports on how their child is progressing and what the child can do to improve.

I believe that most written reports get read by parents when it is too late to do anything to improve a child's performance and then they get stored in the back of the Linen Closet.
